Privacy Policy

We take your privacy seriously. Haze is designed to respect your privacy and collect as little personal information as possible.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights when you use the Haze mobile application (“App”).

By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. What We Collect

a. Account and Authentication Data

  • If you create an account or sign in, we may collect:

  • email address

  • user ID and account identifiers

  • first name, last name, and display name

  • account timestamps and basic account status information

This data is used to create, authenticate, and manage your account.

b. Profile Information

If you choose to personalise your profile, we may collect:

  • display name

  • profile photo / avatar image

Profile photos may be uploaded to our cloud storage and associated with your user account. Your profile photo and display name may be visible to other users where profile features are shown.

c. Subscription and Purchase Data

If you purchase Haze+ or another paid feature, we may process:

  • subscription tier and entitlement status

  • App Store product identifiers

  • transaction identifiers and related purchase metadata needed to validate access

Payments are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

d. Trip and Route Data

To provide trip functionality, we may process and store:

  • trip origin and destination details

  • trip history and trip metadata

  • route files or route geometry associated with trips

  • timestamps and related trip state information

Some trip data may be stored locally on your device. Some trip and route data may also be stored in our backend infrastructure so your data can persist across sessions, support account-linked features, and restore historical trip information.

e. Location Data

To provide routing, trip progress, geofencing, ETA, and related features, the App may request access to your device location.

  • You can choose whether to grant location access, but some features will not work properly without it.

  • Location data may be processed during active use of the App to provide trip functionality.

We do not state that all precise location data is permanently stored, but certain trip-related route or location-derived data may be stored where necessary for App features and history.

f. Connected Services Data

If you connect third-party services, we may process limited related data to provide features.

Examples may include:

  • selected calendar information used for trip-related features

  • connected Master Tour tour data, such as schedules, venues, or itinerary details

Master Tour API credentials entered into the App are stored locally in your device Keychain and are not uploaded to our servers.

g. Diagnostics, Analytics, and Performance Data

We collect limited technical and usage information to improve the App, such as:

  • crash logs

  • performance metrics

  • feature usage patterns

  • technical diagnostic events

h. Communications You Send Us

If you contact us for support or feedback, we may collect:

  • your email address

  • the contents of your message

  • any attachments or information you choose to provide

2. How We Use Information

We use information we collect to:

  • create and manage user accounts

  • authenticate users

  • provide trip, routing, weather, and connected-service features

  • provide profile features

  • validate paid subscriptions and access to Haze+ features

  • store and restore user-linked app data

  • improve reliability, performance, and safety of the App

  • investigate bugs, abuse, fraud, or misuse

  • respond to support requests

  • comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data.

3. Third-Party Services and Storage

We use third-party providers to operate Haze. These may include:

  • Supabase for authentication, database, and storage

  • Firebase for analytics and crash reporting

  • Apple and Google services for maps, routing, and platform functionality

  • Apple Weather / WeatherKit for weather-related features

  • Eventric Master Tour for optional connected tour information

These providers may process data on our behalf in order to provide App functionality.

4. Public and Shared Information

If you upload a profile photo or set a display name, that information may be shown within the App anywhere your profile is displayed.

Please do not upload images or information you do not want associated with your account.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the App, provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data, including account data, support communications, trip records, profile content, diagnostics, and subscription-related records.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to help protect your information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. International Data Transfers

Your information may be stored or processed in countries outside your home jurisdiction, including where our service providers operate infrastructure. Those countries may have different data protection laws. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

  • access your personal data

  • correct inaccurate information

  • delete your account or request deletion of personal data

  • restrict or object to certain processing

  • withdraw permissions such as location or photo access on your device

  • You may also manage certain information directly in the App, such as your profile details.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the applicable age threshold.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the Effective Date when changes are made and provide notice where required by law.
