We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information when you use the Haze mobile application (“App”).

By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. What We May Collect

a. Account and Authentication Data

If you choose to create an account or log in (e.g., email, username, user ID), we may collect:

• Email address

• Username / display name / First & Last Name

• Account identifiers

This data is stored in our backend system and used to identify your account. We use Supabase’s authentication and database services to manage and secure this account data. (See Third-Party Services)

b. Analytics and Performance

We collect limited analytics and crash data to help improve the App.

Examples include:

• Feature usage patterns

• App performance metrics

• Crash logs

This data is collected through analytics services (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics) and may also be collected via backend events stored in Supabase. This information is used solely to enhance the App experience.

c. Location Data

To provide trip status and routing features, the App may request access to your device’s location.

• You can choose whether to grant location access, however this will restrict the apps functionality.

• Location data may be processed temporarily to deliver App features.

• We do not persistently store precise location data unless explicitly required for a feature.

d. Communications You Provide

If you contact us (e.g., support email), we may collect:

• Your email address

• Any information you include in your message

We use this only to respond to your inquiries and provide support.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect for:

• Account creation and authentication

• Providing App features and services

• App maintenance, improvement, and debugging

• Responding to support or inquiry requests

• Compliance with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

3. Third-Party Services and Storage

The App uses third-party services for data processing, storage, and analytics. These include, but are not limited to:

• Supabase (authentication, database, storage)

• Google Firebase (analytics and crash reporting)

• Apple/Google Maps services for routing and maps

Your data may be processed by these providers to enable core functionalities. Using the App means you agree to the privacy practices of these services as well. 

4. International Data Transfers

Your information may be stored or processed in countries outside your home jurisdiction, including where Supabase or other service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws. By using the App, you consent to such transfers and processing.

5. Data Retention & Security

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide the App and fulfill legal obligations.

We strive to implement reasonable security measures. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection of your data.

Supabase and other service providers offer access controls and encryption to help protect stored data. 

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:

• Accessing your personal data

• Correcting inaccurate information

• Deleting your account

• Restricting or objecting to certain processing

The App is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the applicable age threshold. If you believe such data has been collected, contact us for deletion.

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. We will revise the Effective Date at the top and notify you of significant changes where required by law.
