kia ora, hi!
I’m Ryan, and this is POST[media]. I’m stoked you’ve stopped by! Amongst other things my passion is to design, create, and engineer 2D and 3D custom motion graphics and video systems for live events and productions. From festivals or tours to one off corporate shows, LED to projection the challenge of more than just a 16:9 screen is what keeps us on our toes.
As mentioned there’s more than just visuals, With over 10 years working in the production industry I have many tours, festivals and shows under my belt as a PA Tech, FOH or monitor audio engineer, or in a vision switcher / director role. Topped off with a background in I.T. systems administration and helpdesk, I’m a great resource for fixing your printer while on road when not flying a PA or removing knots from cables. I went through a bit of an identity crisis and did some lighting at one point, but I like to keep that secret. Overall I’ve done a bit of everything but concentrate on show design, large format audio and vision operating / engineering.
POST[media] was founded in 2011 for motion graphics work but now encompasses all my freelance work. Working in Cinema 4D for 3D mgfx and utilising most applications from the Adobe Creative Cloud for 2D and sequencing. I've designed and produced content for a mix of corporate and live show clients. Involvement varies from editing or sequencing clips based off audio timecode to creating custom animations from scratch. No matter what involvement I'm always excited to see the final product come to life and bring that extra razzle-dazzle to the show.
The last 2 years I've spent in Canada, working winters for Whistler Blackcomb, recently in several I.T. roles including RFID Gatekeeper - monitoring, guest support and reporting on RFID gate usage and IT helpdesk during a mass transition to new hardware and Vail Resort systems. Over the surprisingly warm summer months in Canada I have been freelancing for Briere Production Group. Thanks to BPG I saw a lot of Canada's interior while touring as an A2 where my days involved rigging and flying D&B J rigs, directing local crew and operating monitors for opening acts across western Canada. Headlines include Weezer, Slayer and Dwight Yoakam to name a few.
The good old days in New Zealand I worked for The Production Co. touring with local artists, bringing ideas and napkin drawings to designs using Vectorworks and operating numerous high profile events. By the end of my time at TPC I was in a senior technician and production manager role overseeing tours, planning rigging plots in CAD and involved in several unique corporate PR projects.
Lastly I've been involved with Makelight interactive creating content, operating and consulting on their people-as-pixels product. On the days not spent in a theatre or venue I enjoy snowboarding, chasing waterfalls or hiking to a quiet lake in the wilderness, and photography.

If you like what you see, we're just a bunch of electrons away from sitting down over a drink and having a yarn. I work closely with production suppliers, other designers and your brand to ensure pixel perfect, consistent, and seamless content is on-brand and takes your set design to the next level.
Unfortunately a large number of projects must remain private to our clients, however here is a small snippet of my work:

I’d love to hear from you. If you've got a concept or dreamt up a crazy design last night, it would be my honour to sit down and have a chat. There’s no excuse not to have a coffee or beer over stories of good times. With my network of contacts and the "yea bro, we can make this work” Kiwi attitude I’m confident you won’t regret it.
